The Lord Omnipresent

All the way around shall be eighteen thousand cubits; and the name of the city from that day shall be: THE LORD IS THERE.
Ezekiel 48:35
Sin separated man from God, but righteousness restores the fellowship. We have been made righteous. We have been “cleared in court,” free from the accusations of the enemy. The threat of the Law no longer disturbs us. God is no longer far off. We are no longer in darkness. We have come close to God. We have become one with Christ. God is for us, with us and in us, through Jesus Christ. He is near. He is present. This is God’s longing, dream and goal: to be surrounded by people who praise and honor Him so He can pour out His love and envelop them in His glory. His name is the Lord Omnipresent, and He longs to walk with, through and in His people.

The goal of the entire revelation is the new heaven and the new earth, where righteousness reigns. God lives in His temple in heaven, but one day His tabernacle will stand among the people and He, Himself, will be among them. This is incredible. This is when the great adventure will begin. This is when we will be totally free from every limitation; God will become everything in everyone. This is when we actually will see what we previously held on to in faith.

But even now God is present. Jesus is in the midst of us. The Holy Spirit lives in us. The life of the vine flows through to the branches. He says to you, “I am with you always, until the end of the age.” He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is with you in every situation. A bruised reed He will not break, and a smoking flax He will not quench. Let the Lord Omnipresent touch you right now, and everything will be fine again.

Prayer

I thank You, God, for always being near me and for hemming me in completely. Thank You that You are for me and not against me. I trust in You, and all fear must leave. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
